THE British Touring Car Championship may have enjoyed a six-week summer break, but it did not serve to rejuvenate the prospects of North-East team Robertshaw Racing.

Laverty back in the points

DURHAM-based 250cc Grand Prix rider Eugene Laverty bounced back to points scoring ways at a wet Sachsenring on Sunday, crossing the line in 15th position. Blusens Aprilia rider Laverty was involved in a five-rider battle for 11th position, but lost out to the factory machines towards the finish.

DURHAM-based motorcyclist Eugene Laverty claimed a hard-fought single World Championship point after finishing 15th in the 250cc race at the German Grand Prix after a tremendous scrap with Aleix Espargaro and Hector Faubel.

DURHAM-based Eugene Laverty was an impressive 16th in the first 250cc qualifying session at the Alice Grand Prix of Germany today despite an off track excursion on the Blusens Aprilia.
