Challenge award accolade as designer looks to expand
TRAINER designer Matt Scott said he is bracing himself for business expansion after being voted The Northern Echo's winner of the If We Can You Can challenge.
The 20-year-old student beat male grooming salon owner Karen Forster in a public vote which saw more than 2,000 people taking part.
Mr Scott, who runs design company MES Footwork, will now become one of the Faces of Entrepreneurship in the North- East for 2009 to inspire entrepreneurs of the future.

The "If we can you can" challenge was launched for anyone who was either thinking of starting a business, running their own business or hoping to expand their existing enterprise.
The regionwide search - which was backed by The Northern Echo - offered winners the opportunity to become the faces of entrepreneurship 2009.
The challenge was part of a campaign to find the next generation of the next generation of entrepreneurs. The "If we can you can" campaign is the idea of the regional Entrepreneurs Forum - funded by regional development agency One NorthEast.

The Northern Echo has joined forces with MES Footwork, run by If We Can You Can finalist Matt Scott, to give away a pair of trainers.
