Stockton Fringe Festival
LEGENDARY is an often over-used term, but
in the case of the latest headliners to be
announced for this year's Stockton
Riverside Fringe Festival, it hardly begins to
describe The Happy Mondays.
Headlining on the Saturday night (August 2)
the announcement that Shaun Ryder, Bez
and friends will be playing the Fringe follows
quickly after Super Furry Animals, Paul
Heaton (of the Beautiful South and
Housemartins) and British Sea Power were
also reported to be playing the festival
(Wednesday July 30 to Sunday August 3).
The Happy Mondays reformed last year and
still have ability to sell out venues and
festivals all over Europe. Their inclusion
promises to make this the finest Stockton
festival in its 18-year history.
All fringe events are free of charge,
including the main music stage and comedy
tent. More announcements on the main
stage line-up and other events will be
made soon.
